Tsetsens Mining and Energy LLC is a company established by Mongolian shareholders with the broad activities in geology, mining and energy sectors.

Our focus is on developing coal energy and coal processing projects in our self-owned “Booroljuut Tal” lignite deposit located 120 km south-east of Ulaanbaatar at the territory of Bayan Soum in Tuv province.

  • The chemical properties of coal were completely analyzed at the Institute of Energy, Technology and Chemical engineering of Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany.

  • The briquetting property of the coal in the project area was analyzed at the Coal - Chemical Laboratory of ZEMAG GmbH, Germany.

  • The foundation of the camp site of “Booroljuut tal” project was laid.

  • The technical drawing of the camp site, topographic mapping, engineer geological works and laboratory analysis works were completed.

  • The technical drawing of the petroleum station of the mine site was started, and the topographic mapping, engineer geological and laboratory works were performed.

  • Hydrogeological exploration field and topographic analysis works were completed.

  • The bankable Feasibility Study of the 600 MWt Power Station was started.

  • The Feasibility Study of the hard surface road of the project was started.

2012

The coal of the project target area was tested and analyzed at the “Radiation Laboratory of the Nuclear Energy Authority” of Mongolia.

  • The exploration report which had been made by “Micromine Mongolia” Company in accordance with Australian JORC Code was finished.     

  • The land ownership certificates for the railway, auto road, camp site and petroleum station were issued by the Governor’s Office of Bayan soum, Tuv province.

  • The CEO of the company was included in the team of Mongolian President’s visit to Germany and signed on the Memorandum of Understanding with “Lurgi” and GTL F1 companies  in order to cooperate on the coal liquefaction project.

  • We have conducted a complete archeological survey together with the Archeological Institute of Science Academy of Mongolia.

  • The Paleontological complete exploratory research was conducted by the joint team of Paleontology Center of Science Academy of Mongolia and the researchers of ancient plants laboratory of the Geology Institute in Moscow, Russian Federation.  

  • The technical drawing of the petroleum station in the mine site was approved by the expert’s appraisal.  

  • The conclusion of drinking water in the camp site was made by the Specialized Inspection Agency of Mongolia.

  • The environmental screening was made by the Ministry of Nature, Environment and Tourism of Mongolia.

  • The topographic mapping and drawing work to make an artificial lake with water penetrated from the mine was started.

  • The report of exploratory work was approved by the Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia.

  • The Feasibility Study of the “Booroljuut tal” paved road project for the route Nalaikh – Choir was developed, and approved by the Ministry of Roads, Transportation, Construction and Urban development of Mongolia.

  • The Feasibility Study of 600 MWt power station of “Booroljuut tal” project was developed, and approved by the Energy Regulatory Committee of Mongolia. And the special permission to build power station was issued.

  • 'RWE" AG started developing the Bankable Feasibility Study to build 600 MWt power station.

  • We have received the technical specifications of Mine electricity supply from “Ulaanbaatar electricity distribution network” S.C. of Mongolia.

  • “Lurgi” GmbH and Tsetsens Mining and Energy LLC have signed on strategic partnership agreement. We have made technological drilling in the project target area within the scope of coal liquefying project and sent the coal sample to the laboratory of “Lurgi”.

  • The report of performance on 'Booroljuut tal' deposit is finished completely, in order to define the hydro-geological situation.

The Feasibility study of “Booroljuut tal” open pit mine project was approved by the Minerals Council of Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia.

  • The Feasibility study of “Booroljuut tal” open pit mine project was approved by the Minerals Council of Mineral Resources Authority of Mongolia.

  • Received the technological analysis result from the laboratory of “Lurgi”, Germany.

  • As a result of archeological excavation performed by the researchers of Archeology Institution on the basis of previous survey carried out last year, we have discovered a barrow which is a cultural heritage dates back to XII-XIV century.

  • The Bankable Feasibility Study to build 600 MWt power station was completely developed by “RWE” AG, Germany.

  • The technical drawing of the electricity supply of the mine site was completely finished.

  • The report of geological exploration works conducted in the brown coal project area of “Booroljuut Tal” LLC, a wholly ohned subsidiary company of “Tsetsens Mining and Energy”, was approved by the Ministry of Mining/Mongolia.

  • The engineering geological work to establish the artificial lake was completed.

  • As a result of field and sedentary processing works, the report of “Land characterization and qualification” was made.

2014

The technical drawing of the artificial lake to be made with water penetrated from the mine was completed.
